Create a Rutgers NetID
In order to participate in the Student Instructional Rating Survey, you will need to activate your Rutgers computing username and password, known as your "NetID". Your NetID will also allow you to log in to course sites on Sakai, Blackboard or eCollege, see your final grades, obtain your transcript, register for additional courses, use Rutgers computing facilities, and access library materials from home.
Everyone enrolled in a course at Rutgers has a NetID. You do not need to be a full-time Rutgers student.
Activate your NetID Here
While setting up your NetID, you will be asked if you want to use a Rutgers email address. If you normally use a different address, you should type in your preferred email address where you currently read your mail. You can always change your email address later.
Be sure to follow instructions exactly - the process is finicky. Pay special attention to dates - for instance, August 7, 1980 must be typed as "08/07/1980"
You are responsible for reading and abiding by the university computing policies:
- Rutgers University Acceptable Use Policy (PDF)
- Guidelines for Interpretation of the Acceptable Use Policy (PDF)
- Official NetID information
- Change NetID Password
- Change email address
Questions or problems creating a NetID should be addressed to the Computing Help Desk for your campus.
New accounts can take 15 - 30 minutes to become active. After that, to take your surveys go to http://sakai.rutgers.edu/portal/site/sirs .
