This is a wiki wiki. The only important thing to know about wiki is that anyone can edit any page (within reason - this is prone to vandalism so this wiki requires you to log in before editing).
Wikis are useful in course work for group projects, peer-review and commentary, and possibly for homework and feedback. We have setup a sample CourseWiki to illustrate possible uses. If you have used a wiki in your course, we are interested in hearing your comments.
This wiki wiki is based on the WikkaWiki software that allows just about anyone to edit the web site. It has some user management, and optionally requires people to register and log in before they can edit pages. You can then change an "AccessControlList" (ACL) for each page to allow different sets of users to read, write or comment on the page. This wiki has been set up to require logging in before you have full access. Click UserSettings to create an account or log in.
Try the SandBox to play with this. You will want to read FormattingRules first, and the UserGuide has more information.
As of January 2007 there is a wiki tool built into any Sakai site. We recommend using Sakai https://sakai.rutgers.edu/portal/∞ for course or project wikis. OIT has also set up a similar tool, TikiWiki∞. The OIT tool requires no set up.
