Automated podcasting from the classroom
We are testing a system that allows faculty to podcast directly from the classroom. This is a beta system, please provide feedback to us at info@ctaar.rutgers.edu on how we can improve the service or to tell us of any problems that you have. Thanks!
How to Subscribe to a Podcast
- Download iTunes from Apple Computer, for free. You may choose to use any other podcasting software but at the moment we have only tested iTunes (if you are able to use something else successfully, let us know at info@ctaar.rutgers.edu).
- In iTunes, click “Advanced --> Subscribe to Podcast”

- Paste in the podcast address provided by your professor, and click “OK”. If your professor also gives you a username and password, you will also need to type that in when asked. You can also see a full list of podcasts that are currently available.
- For a shortcut, you may drag the podcast link directly to your iTunes library instead of doing the above.
- To play your podcast, click the “Podcasts” playlist then choose the podcast like any other song.

Additional Settings
- iTunes will automatically check for new podcasts once a day. To check for new podcasts immediately, click the “Refresh” button in the lower-right corner.
- Podcasts are automatically deleted after you listen to them. To keep the podcasts, right-click on the podcast (control-click on a Macintosh) and choose “Do Not Auto Delete” from the menu.

- You may also click the “Settings” button to change the general podcasting options in iTunes (this will affect all your podcasts).
